Thailand, Gal's & Jonathan's Engagement and Wedding

4/17/2015, Friday, Leaving Manila, Philippines to Bangkok
Second part of our journey beginning.  Heading to Bangkok to meet up with Gal and her family for the upcoming engagement ceremony and wedding. Driving to Manila is almost like taking your life in your hands with all the cars, tuk-tuk, jeepnees, motorscooters!!  Acck…
The flight is wonderful and so enjoying the 1st class travel. The view of Manila from the air is crazy!!  It is so crowded and covers so much area.
A little late leaving, but was able to catch up with Gal and her family as soon as we clear Immigration and Customs.  Gathered up our bags, new Sim cards for the phones, exchange money and off we go to have a great dinner with the family. Think we will be ready for an early to bed after all the travel today.

4/18/2015, Saturday,  Engagement Ceremony- Jonathan and Gal
Early rising to head to get hair and make-up for the morning ceremony.  Gal’s dad picks us up, heading to the ceremony and reception area. Let the pictures begin!! Had to clean out my phone and camera to make sure we have plenty of space for all of them.
The ceremony is beautiful and we go up to give them a blessing for their upcoming marriage.

4/19/2015, Sunday
The family and all of Gal’s and Jonathan’s friends are driving to ….. National Park and then a resort to spend the night.   Lots of monkeys, a few elephants along the way.  Several actually rode the elephants, I elected to just have a picture with them.  Was starting down the path to get more pictures, when we heard an over head crack and a few branches fell above us. I was starting to walk backwards to find another path, when the whole tree came down just a few inches from us.  Whew!!  Glad that wasn’t on my head!!

We head on to the resort and it is amazing!! What a beautiful area in the mountains.  A very restful night under the stars, hearing all the birds, insects and geckos/lizards outside.  Most of the kids spent the night in tents, but Lin and I elected for a bed with the windows open!
