Embroidery Projects

So, I have a new embroidery machine!! I am learning new skills everyday.  The first thing I made was a zipper purse that is made completely in the hoop. I made several for Christmas gifts on my first embroidery machine, but it would only make small purses.  This new machine has a larger hoop, so larger purses!! I can embroider a pattern on the purse as it is sewing, so I don't have to take it out of the hoop at all. I love it! I even made a few with a mesh type material on the front, so you can see thru them.

So I am famous for about  my Cutting and Pasting stories when learning on the new laptop. Had to share this cartoon!!

Minky backing on this quilt. Found out I love quilting on Minky, not only is it so fun to just touch, but it loves to be quilted!! And look at that green, is that just now begging to be cuddled up to?

Such a beautiful day. The smell of ocean, sound of sea gulls thru the window. The sun coming up over the Gulf. Taking a picture is not enough, it doesn't capture the assault on the senses.  But that's all I can share now.  That, and these words are all we have to let others share this moment in time. Don't waste it!

So this is my new creation! Taking an old pair of jeans and giving it a new life. It will now have a place of honor in the kitchen when cooking at the annual Cookie Bake.  Thinking of making one for all the girls at the Cookie Bake. What do you think? I found the cutest material to trim it with, lots of Christmas gingerbread men.  Made a few of these for Hannaruth and her friend.  She loved them also.  Found out they sell really well also, but will need to find a market to sell them on.  Maybe here on this blog? Still thinking on that one.

  Welcome to my new blogging effort. A little about me, I'm 50ish, married to my sweetheart of 30 years, mom to 3 children. We are empty nesters now, the youngest in college. Have one granddaughter of 11 years. I'm a Critical Care RN, semi-retired and traveling with my husband in a 37 foot fifth wheel while teaching classes on the road.  What do I love doing? Quilting, teaching, reading, crafts, sewing, more quilting, not cooking! and more quilting.  Did I mention quilting in that list? This is my new passion and loving it.  Will post pics in this blog of the quilts I am working on.  
   That's about it for me, this is my first attempt at blogging, not sure what I will be writing about, but I've wanted to start writing for a long time.  Seeing where this will take me, a new adventure!
